Yesterday’s tournament got off to a slightly late start due to the trains being stuffed, again!
15 players registered and our first RACA member played 4 rounds of 7 point matches.
Welcome to:
Olga, Martin’s wife, Marina, Ed and Daniel.
We finished at 4pm on the dot! Well done everyone.
There was no argument as to the winner; Matt 4 from 4. A bottle of wine and $160.
He managed a Houdini escape from the jaws of Noah. I watched Noah in the early stages of his bear off and walked away. When I returned a few minutes later, the cube had turned to 2 (Matt accepting) and Noah had 3 men on the roof!
2nd was Adam 3 from 4 and +10. A bottle of wine and $60
3rd was tied between our new member Ed and Steve D. 3 from 4 and +7 (Steve has been quietly improving his game over the past months – watch out!)
It’s interesting to observe the swings in these tournaments. Martin was 3 from 3 and +11 before losing to Matt 7/2 ending up 5th, 3 from 4 and +6.
NB. The RACA has a dress code. They are enforcing it. My son wasn’t allowed entry last month; he was wearing a hoody. Yesterday; one of our members was publicly admonished for his attire by the maître d’.
Please show our host the respect they deserve by dressing accordingly. It’s not onerous! Collared Polo T, slacks and shoes, rings the bell! (No jeans, no shorts, no runners, no hoodies.)
