It was good to get back into harness on Saturday. 12 players, so a Swiss of 4 rounds produced 2 players with 3 wins; Steve and Morteza and 2 players with 2 wins; Matt and Ali after 3 rounds to play off for the 2 course dinner for 2 plus $300 in the pools and the 2 bottles of wine.
As the photo shows, Steve was the overall winner 4/4, Mortezea the R/U 3/4 and Matt the Consolation place getter also 3/4. (Countback: Morteza 1:7:7:-4=11 Matt 7:6:-7:2=8 and Morteza beat Matt head to head.)
Congratulations to both our new members; Jude and Noah for giving a good account of themselves and to Yalli for giving some pointers to them along the way.
As usual, the lunch provided by the restaurant was great and enjoyed by all. It is becoming a great social break in the play.
Members have decided to adopt clocks going forward to allow for a growing club to manage the time we have available for 7 point matches. Nothing to be afraid of but it does instil time management. (Play the easy moves quickly, which allows more time for cube decisions and counting.)
